This Privacy Policy explains how Waverate collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our mobile application. By accessing the Services, you consent to the collection, use, storage, and sharing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The Terms and Conditions Agreement incorporates this Privacy Policy and any terms used herein are defined by the Terms.
II. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, unique username, and password. This is securely managed using Google Firebase Authentication.
- Usage and Rating Data: We collect the ratings you submit for songs, albums, and artists, as well as your friend connections and interaction data within the App.
- Device and Ad Data: Because Waverate displays advertisements, our third-party ad network partners may collect device identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s AAID), IP addresses, and general location data to serve relevant ads.
- Transaction status: We collect the status and dates of your in-app purchases.
- System Logs: Operating system information, internet connection information, traffic logs, and crash and error information.
III. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Waverate service, including generating your personal music dashboards.
- To identify you as the legitimate owner of your account.
- To enable social features, specifically creating cross-referenced catalogs and cumulative dashboards with your approved friends.
- To display advertisements (unless you have purchased the "No Ads" upgrade)
- To manage your account and communicate with you regarding updates or support.
- To personalize your experience of the Services.
- To detect potential or actual errors, so that we may maintain and improve the Services.
- To analyze usage patterns and understand User experiences.
- To comply with applicable law as judicial process or law enforcement requires.
- To investigate and prevent potential or actual violations of the Terms, security threats, or fraud.
IV. How We Share Your Information
- With Other Users: Your music ratings and catalog data are shared only with users whom you have explicitly accepted as friends.
- With Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third-party providers (Google Firebase).
- With Ad Networks: We share device identifiers with advertising partners to deliver ads.
- Apple Music Disclaimer: We use the Apple Music API for metadata. We do not share your personal account information or rating data with Apple Music.
V. Data Retention and Deletion
Waverate will retain your information for only the duration necessary. You have the right to request the deletion of your account at any time by selecting Settings > Data Control.
- Your account information will be deleted within 30 days.
- Your shared catalogs will be permanently removed from friends' views.
VI. Social Features
Friend System: By accepting a friend request, you explicitly consent to sharing your personal music ratings and catalog data with that friend.
Revoking Access: You can unfriend a user at any time, which immediately revokes their access to your rating data.
VII. Data Security
The security of your Personal Data is our highest priority. We protect your Personal Data from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access through technical, administrative, and physical safeguards. The information you provide to us is encrypted in storage and transit.
VIII. Children's Privacy
Waverate does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in the United States or under 16 in the European Union. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us at avlorycorp@gmail.com as quickly as possible.
IX. Your Rights
You may request data copies or request full deletion of your Personal Data by selecting Settings > Data Control. You may opt-out of personalized advertising via Settings > Privacy.
